EASIEST PIE CRUST EVER

3 cups flour                                    1 egg

1 1/2 tsp salt                                  6 TB COLD water
2TB sugar                                      1 TB vinegar
1 1/4 cup Shortening

Combine flour, sugar and salt. Cut in the shortening until crumbly. In a separate dish, beat the egg with the water and vinegar .Blend into the flour mixture til moist. If it's too soggy, add a bit more flour and work in with your hands. Let rest for 10 minutes. Divide in half and roll out.


APPLE PIE

6-8 apples                                     1 tsp cinnamon 
3/4 cup sugar                                dash ground nutmeg
1/2 cup brown sugar                      2 TB butter or margarine
2 TB Flour

Peel ,core  and slice apples, then put in a colander to let drain as much juice as possible.
Combine sugar, flour, and spices with a dash of salt. Add apple slices slowly, coating them all.
Fill crust and dot with the butter. Adjust top crust, cut some slits in top and sprinkle lightly with white sugar.
Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes or until apples are tender and juices have evaporated.
